Restaurant August joins Sazerac Company and Buffalo Trace Distillery to celebrate Bourbon Heritage month with a one-of-a-kind menu and drink pairing. Chef Ross Dover and Chef Patricia Morton have curated five courses that will each compliment a cocktail featuring Sazerac Company bourbon brands. We are excited to celebrate a long standing American tradition with an intimate dinner.
Bourbon Heritage Month History Lesson:
In 1964 Congress passed an act declaring Bourbon “America’s Native Spirit” and ensuring its place as a distinct product of the United States.Trade laws and treaties protect this designation, and because of this Bourbon cannot be made anywhere else in the world. In 2007 the United States Senate declared September “National Bourbon Heritage Month,”and the world has rejoiced ever since.
